Topic covered this term:

We will be continuing our topic on trade, but focusing more on how money works in today's world. This will include savings/ bank accounts and how they work. The children will learn about borrowing money and how they pay this back, a skill that is really useful in life beyond St. Oswald's. We hope to set up a savings scheme to show the children how saving even a little, can reap rewards at the end. So if your child wants to talk about money at home, please encourage them to ask questions and investigate facts that may help them in their topic at school.

Other Relevant Information:

We are looking to encourage children to read as much as possible so please help to remind your child to read every day and tick their reading sheets in homework books. In year 4 this year times tables are going to be looked at very closely. So if you have a spare few minutes test your child on their times tables or using the website hit the button. There will also be a weekly times tables test sent home as part of their homework.
