The Curriculum
White Rose Maths:
At St. Oswald's we use White Rose Maths. The White Rose scheme of learning is designed to support a mastery approach to teaching and learning, as well as to supporting the aims and objectives of the National Curriculum. The White Rose scheme has number and fluency at its heart and much of our curriculum time is spent on reinforcing number to build competency. It provides regular opportunities to build reasoning and problem solving into the curriculum and encourage a deeper level of thinking.
At St. Oswald's we strongly believe that all children, who are introduced to a concept, should have the opportunity to build on their abilities by following a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach which is also key in White Rose Maths.
